Russell Cork has spent 25 years guiding raw ideas into fully realized products. With a strong background in science and engineering, he developed electromechanical systems across a variety of industries. Now, with his MBA, he uses this expertise to help startups successfully commercialize their products.
“I’ve seen a variety of different systems and ways of operating,” he says. “And so that range of experience gives me a really balanced perspective on how to best execute a new product to a market or a customer.”
As a member of the Expert Advisor Program, Russell works with startups to avoid common pitfalls he has encountered, with a goal of making the startup process as smooth and effective as possible.
“I want to help pass on what I’ve learned from making those mistakes myself and walking that narrow balance point, being responsive and adaptive, but also sticking to your vision,” he says.
Beyond experience, Russell brings a passion for supporting entrepreneurs and believes in that strong commitment to innovation.
“I’m very interested in working with people who are just passionate about the solution they’re trying to bring to market,” Russell explains. “Because I think more than anything you become the engine of your idea.”
Ultimately, in his work with founders, he takes an open, communicative approach with his clients, encouraging debate, transparent conversations, and divergent thinking to help uncover potential flagship products.
“It’s that innate desire to examine ideas closely and test and probe and work on it until it’s the best idea possible, whether it’s my idea or somebody else’s.”
